A CELEBRATION OF INDIGENOUS CULTURE IN MEXICO CITY

August, 2023

The stage is set for the 2023 edition of the Indigenous Cultures Fair, a yearly celebration of the traditions, flavors, and artistic expressions of the many indigenous peoples of Mexico. Held in the Zócalo, in the Historic Center of Mexico City, the purpose of this celebration is to give visibility and a platform to the indigenous communities that are at the heart of Mexico’s history.

As part of the Fair, visitors from all around the country and the world will find traditional handicrafts from all over the country’s capital, shoes, dolls, handwoven baskets, and of course, lots of food and drink.

In addition, a varied programme of activities will allow visitors to get involved and learn about the rich traditions of our indigenous communities. Among many other activities, you’ll find workshops, demonstrations on cooking and ancient medicinal practices, concerts, and cultural presentations.

The Fair takes place free of charge in the Zócalo, from August 4-20, and is open to the public from 10:00-20:00, Sunday-Thursday, and 10:00-21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.
