NEW HORIZONS: MEXICO’S MOST ANTICIPATED HOTEL OPENINGS FOR 2026
February 5, 2026
After a record-setting year for tourism, Mexico is showing no signs of slowing down. With strong international demand, increased airlift, and global events on the horizon, 2026 is shaping up to be a standout year — especially for new hotel and resort openings across the country’s most desirable destinations. From beach enclaves to cultural capitals, the hospitality landscape continues to evolve in exciting ways.

In the Riviera Maya and Cancún region, wellness, design and exclusivity take center stage. Alila Mayakoba will make its Latin American debut with an adults-only, sustainability-driven retreat inside the coveted Mayakoba enclave, while Kimpton Tres Ríos Riviera Maya introduces the brand’s signature style to the all-inclusive space along a quieter stretch of coastline. Farther north, The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort, Cancún adds understated luxury and personalized service to one of the Caribbean’s fastest-growing resort areas.

Baja California Sur continues to attract brands that prioritize space, serenity and a strong sense of place. Amanvari, Aman’s long-awaited arrival in Mexico, will open along the East Cape with a highly intimate concept focused on wellness, nature and refined simplicity. Nearby, Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol and the newly opened Kadún Hotel bring fresh perspectives to Los Cabos — blending elevated design, walkable locations and access to the region’s dramatic landscapes.

Emerging destinations are also stepping into the spotlight. In Loreto, the wellness-focused Mailena is poised to introduce a new kind of adults-only escape on the Sea of Cortez, while Mexico City welcomes several notable openings. El Cortés, a restored Art Nouveau mansion in Roma Norte, and Park Hyatt Mexico City in Polanco both promise thoughtfully designed spaces that connect guests with the capital’s art, culture and culinary scene.

Rounding out the year, Mexico’s Pacific Coast gains momentum with The Westin Playa Vallarta, An All-Inclusive Resort, combining oceanfront views with a wellness-first approach in Bahía de Banderas. Together, these openings reflect where travel in Mexico is headed: experiences rooted in place, elevated by design, and shaped by the country’s incredible diversity.

Let Destination Mexico be your guide and gateway to discovering all of these incredible experiences in 2026!
