MEXICO CONTINUES ITS TOURISM MOMENTUM WITH STRONG INTERNATIONAL GROWTH IN EARLY 2026
July 7, 2026

Mexico continues to reinforce its position as one of the world's leading travel destinations. During the first quarter of 2026, the country welcomed more than 26.2 million visitors, including 12.7 million international tourists, reflecting steady growth in both arrivals and tourism revenue. The figures confirm that global demand for Mexico remains strong, supported by its diverse destinations, excellent connectivity and world-class hospitality.

Growth has been particularly notable among international air travelers, with visitors from key markets such as the United States, Canada and Europe continuing to drive demand. At the same time, travelers are spending more during their visits, highlighting the country's ability to attract longer stays and higher-value experiences across beach destinations, cultural cities and emerging regions.

The positive results also reflect Mexico's continued investment in tourism infrastructure, new hotel developments, improved air connectivity and destination promotion. As the country prepares for major global events, including the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup, its tourism industry is well positioned to build on this momentum and welcome even more visitors in the years ahead.

At Destination Mexico, we are proud to be part of this continued growth. With local expertise, trusted partnerships and operations across Mexico's leading destinations, we help our clients transform the country's growing tourism opportunities into seamless, authentic and unforgettable experiences for every guest.
