PUERTO VALLARTA RANKED AMONG MEXICO’S 5 SAFEST CITIES
August 5, 2025
Puerto Vallarta continues to stand out not only for its natural beauty and vibrant culture, but also for the peace of mind it offers travelers. On July 24, 2025, Mexico’s National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) released the latest results from its National Urban Public Safety Survey (ENSU), which measures public perception of safety in 91 urban areas across the country.

According to the data from the second quarter of 2025, Puerto Vallarta ranked among the top five cities in Mexico with the highest sense of safety among residents. The survey, conducted in June, reflects growing confidence in the security of this beloved destination—making it a top choice for both national and international visitors.

These positive results are part of a broader effort by local and federal authorities to strengthen security and promote safe travel experiences in Mexico’s principal tourist destinations. With ongoing investments in infrastructure, community policing, and tourism-focused initiatives, cities like Puerto Vallarta are showing measurable progress in ensuring a secure and welcoming environment.

As travelers plan their next getaway, destinations that combine beauty, culture, and safety—like Puerto Vallarta—are becoming increasingly attractive. The city’s strong showing in this national survey is a promising sign for the season ahead.
