MEXICO CLIMBS THE GLOBAL MEETINGS INDUSTRY RANKINGS
August 10, 2026

Mexico has taken another important step forward in the global meetings and events industry, climbing five places in the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) World Rankings to 21st worldwide and 4th in the Americas. The achievement, announced during IMEX Frankfurt 2026, underscores the country's growing reputation as a premier destination for international congresses, conventions and incentive travel.

The ranking follows a successful 2025, during which Mexico hosted 191 international association congresses across 36 cities, demonstrating the country's strength in connectivity, hospitality infrastructure and destination diversity. With world-class convention centers, exceptional hotels and an expanding network of international air connections, Mexico continues to attract high-value events from around the globe.

For the meetings and incentives industry, this recognition reinforces what planners already know: Mexico offers the expertise, accessibility and experiences needed to deliver memorable programs. The country's presence at IMEX Frankfurt also highlighted ongoing collaboration between destinations, industry partners and tourism authorities to further strengthen Mexico's position in the global MICE market.

At Destination Mexico, we are proud to be part of this momentum. With decades of experience delivering world-class meetings, incentives and events across Mexico's leading destinations, we help our partners transform every program into an authentic experience that showcases the very best of our country's culture, hospitality and creativity.
