A VERY SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM DESTINATION MEXICO
September 4, 2026

After 38 years of dedication, passion, and tireless work, Lourdes Crossley, our Managing Director and co-founder of Destination Mexico, retired at the end of July, bringing to a close an extraordinary chapter in the history of our company.

For more than three decades, Lourdes shepherded Destination Mexico with unwavering commitment, helping build and position the company at the forefront of Mexico’s destination management industry. Her consummate professionalism, vision, and dedication to excellence have been instrumental in shaping not only Destination Mexico, but also the many relationships and experiences that have defined our history.

Yet, beyond her remarkable professional accomplishments, it is Lourdes’s one-of-a-kind personality that has made her one of the most beloved figures in the Mexican tourism industry. Her warmth, energy, humor, and unique way of connecting with people have left an unforgettable impression on colleagues, clients, partners, and friends throughout the years.

Her leadership and example have also prepared Destination Mexico for the future. The values, knowledge, and passion Lourdes has instilled in the company will continue to guide us as we carry her work forward and build upon the extraordinary legacy she leaves behind.

On a more personal note, every member of the Destination Mexico family has been touched by her in one way or another. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have learned from her, shared in her knowledge and experience, and worked alongside someone whose dedication and personality have meant so much to all of us.

While saying goodbye to her daily presence at Destination Mexico is bittersweet, we could not be happier to see her begin this new chapter and enjoy the well-deserved retirement she has earned after a lifetime of hard work and commitment, along with her husband and co-founder, Peter.

Thank you, Lourdes, for your leadership, your vision, your generosity, and for everything you have given to Destination Mexico and to the people who have had the privilege of being part of this journey with you. Your legacy will continue to live on in all that we do.

We wish you nothing but happiness, wonderful new adventures, and many unforgettable moments in the years ahead.

With all our gratitude and affection, we celebrate you and the extraordinary legacy you leave behind.
