DESTINATION MEXICO JOINS MEXICO'S GROWING PRESENCE ON THE INTERNATIONAL TOURISM STAGE
November 6, 2026

Mexico's growing presence at major international tourism events reflects the country's rising appeal across leisure, luxury, and meetings and incentive travel. As destinations and industry representatives connect with buyers and partners around the world, these events are creating new opportunities to showcase Mexico's diversity, strengthen commercial relationships, and attract visitors from key international markets.

Destination Mexico was proud to participate in IMEX America 2026, held October 13–15 in Las Vegas. One of the leading global events for the meetings, events, and incentive travel industry, IMEX provided an important opportunity to connect with international planners, strengthen relationships with industry partners, and share the many possibilities Mexico offers for memorable group experiences. Our participation reflects Destination Mexico's continued commitment to staying connected with the global MICE community and representing the country's exceptional destinations.

Mexico's international outreach extends well beyond the meetings industry. At the Latin American International Tourism Fair (FIT) 2026 in Buenos Aires, a Mexican delegation presented a diverse range of destinations and tourism services to the Argentine and wider South American markets. Meanwhile, Playa del Carmen's participation in the LATAM Luxury Summit 2026 in Mexico City highlights the growing importance of the luxury travel segment and the region's appeal to travelers seeking distinctive hospitality, gastronomy, wellness, and personalized experiences.

Together, these initiatives demonstrate how Mexico is expanding its visibility across different markets and travel segments. For Destination Mexico, taking part in international industry events is about more than showcasing our services, it is about building meaningful partnerships and creating new opportunities for our clients and destinations. With experienced teams across the country, we look forward to turning that growing interest into exceptional programs that reveal the very best of Mexico.

Hyatt is entering the final months of 2026 with a growing collection of luxury properties across some of Mexico’s most sought-after destinations. From the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur to the Caribbean shoreline of the Riviera Maya and the cultural heart of Mexico City, the company is expanding its portfolio with distinctive properties designed around their individual settings and guest experiences. The Park Hyatt brand is at the center of this growth. Following the opening of Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol in December 2025, Park Hyatt Riviera Maya is expected to open by the end of 2026 as the brand’s first all-inclusive property worldwide. Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco, a 155-room hotel overlooking Chapultepec Park, is expected to welcome guests in spring 2027. Together, the three properties offer very different ways to experience Mexico, from coastal escapes to an urban cultural stay. Hyatt’s expansion also includes Alila Mayakoba, which opened earlier this year within the Mayakoba complex. Set across 60 acres of beach, lagoon, and jungle, the resort combines wellness, locally inspired design, and a strong connection to the Yucatán Peninsula. Meanwhile, three new Grand Hyatt resorts—Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman, Grand Hyatt Cancun, and Grand Hyatt Los Cabos—are scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026, with Cancún and Los Cabos introducing all-inclusive experiences to the Grand Hyatt portfolio. For planners, this growing portfolio creates even more possibilities for designing programs around different sides of Mexico. Whether a group is looking for a sophisticated urban experience, a secluded Caribbean setting, or the landscapes and culture of Baja, Destination Mexico can help bring these new properties together with the authentic experiences, local connections, and seamless logistics that make a program truly memorable
