KIMPTON DEBUTS IN RIVIERA MAYA WITH A NATURE-INSPIRED ALL-INCLUSIVE RESORT
November 6, 2026

The Riviera Maya has welcomed a distinctive new addition to its luxury hospitality scene with the opening of Kimpton Tres Ríos Resort, the brand’s first property in the Mexican Caribbean. Set within a privately owned, 326-acre nature park, the all-inclusive resort offers a setting where the Caribbean coastline meets freshwater rivers, cenotes, and lush natural surroundings. Its name comes from the three rivers that flow through the property before reaching the sea.

The resort features 355 rooms and suites, each with a private balcony or terrace, alongside seven restaurants and five bars offering a variety of culinary experiences. Guests can explore the property's natural landscape through guided cenote tours, kayaking, snorkeling, and nature walks, or enjoy four outdoor pools, a water park, and non-motorized water sports. The 10,000-square-foot Kej Spa adds another dimension to the experience, with wellness treatments and Mayan-inspired rituals, including a traditional temazcal.

Kimpton Tres Ríos also brings strong potential for group travel, with a ballroom accommodating up to 500 guests and additional outdoor spaces across its beaches, gardens, terraces, and esplanades. Its meeting and event facilities are complemented by customizable menus and dedicated planning support. Looking ahead, the resort plans to introduce a separate adults-only experience in 2027, featuring accommodations with swim-up access and private plunge pools.

For incentive planners, the resort offers an appealing alternative within the Riviera Maya: a property where guests can enjoy the convenience of an all-inclusive stay while connecting with the region's natural environment and cultural heritage. At Destination Mexico, we see opportunities to build on this setting with thoughtfully designed experiences that bring together the resort's amenities and the many cultural, culinary, and outdoor activities available throughout the destination.

Hyatt is entering the final months of 2026 with a growing collection of luxury properties across some of Mexico’s most sought-after destinations. From the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur to the Caribbean shoreline of the Riviera Maya and the cultural heart of Mexico City, the company is expanding its portfolio with distinctive properties designed around their individual settings and guest experiences. The Park Hyatt brand is at the center of this growth. Following the opening of Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol in December 2025, Park Hyatt Riviera Maya is expected to open by the end of 2026 as the brand’s first all-inclusive property worldwide. Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco, a 155-room hotel overlooking Chapultepec Park, is expected to welcome guests in spring 2027. Together, the three properties offer very different ways to experience Mexico, from coastal escapes to an urban cultural stay. Hyatt’s expansion also includes Alila Mayakoba, which opened earlier this year within the Mayakoba complex. Set across 60 acres of beach, lagoon, and jungle, the resort combines wellness, locally inspired design, and a strong connection to the Yucatán Peninsula. Meanwhile, three new Grand Hyatt resorts—Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman, Grand Hyatt Cancun, and Grand Hyatt Los Cabos—are scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026, with Cancún and Los Cabos introducing all-inclusive experiences to the Grand Hyatt portfolio. For planners, this growing portfolio creates even more possibilities for designing programs around different sides of Mexico. Whether a group is looking for a sophisticated urban experience, a secluded Caribbean setting, or the landscapes and culture of Baja, Destination Mexico can help bring these new properties together with the authentic experiences, local connections, and seamless logistics that make a program truly memorable
