THREE MEXICAN BEACHES AMONG THE WORLD'S BEST, ACCORDING TO TRIPADVISOR
March 6, 2025
If you’re looking for the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards have recognized three breathtaking Mexican beaches among the world’s top 25. Based on reviews and ratings from millions of travelers between November 30, 2023, and December 1, 2024, these award-winning destinations highlight the best of Mexico’s Caribbean and Pacific coastlines.

- Playa Delfines (Cancún, Quintana Roo) – Ranked #24

Nicknamed El Mirador, this beach is famous for its stunning turquoise views, the iconic multicolored “Cancún” sign, and a peaceful atmosphere with no beachfront hotels. It’s one of the few public beaches in Cancún, making it perfect for visitors seeking a quieter, more natural setting. Playa Delfines offers ample space to sunbathe, surf, and even spot dolphins offshore. Travelers recommend arriving early to secure a shaded spot under the palapa umbrellas available on-site.

- Playa Norte (Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo) – Ranked #19

Often regarded as one of the best beaches in the Caribbean, Playa Norte moved up from #24 to #19 in this year’s ranking. It’s known for its calm, shallow, crystal-clear waters and soft, powdery sand, making it ideal for swimming and relaxing. Visitors can enjoy stunning sunsets, go snorkeling or paddleboarding, and explore nearby beach clubs. Close to Playa Norte is La Cadenita, a reef teeming with exotic coral, adding to its appeal for divers and marine life enthusiasts. As one traveler put it, “It feels like a giant natural pool, and the locals make the experience even more enjoyable.”

- Playa Balandra (La Paz, Baja California Sur) – Ranked #21

A protected natural paradise, Playa Balandra is famous for its shallow, tranquil waters, golden sands, and the iconic mushroom-shaped rock formation. This beach is perf ect for kayaking, paddleboarding, or wading through clear tidal flats. Visitors can hike up to a scenic viewpoint for breathtaking panoramic views of the bay and surrounding landscapes.

According to TripAdvisor President Kristen Dalton, these awards capture the voices of millions of travelers, helping others plan their best trips yet. She also highlighted the diversity of this year’s winners, emphasizing that beach vacations aren’t just about sunbathing—they’re also about exploration and adventure!
