WESTIN AND MARRIOTT PUERTO VALLARTA RECEIVE BLUE FLAG CERTIFICATIONS
October 7, 2024
The global organization Blue Flag, which operates in 51 countries around the world, has awarded its certification to the Westin Resort & Spa, and the Marriott Resort & Spa, both staples of Puerto Vallarta’s hotel industry. This distinction recognizes the work these hotels do to reduce their environmental impact by implementing sustainable practices, community outreach, and conservation, such as their programs for the protection of sea turtles.

The Blue Flag distinction is an international recognition that is awarded to beaches and marinas that reach standards of excellence in water quality, management, and environmental education in order to sustainably preserve our coasts, oceans, and bodies of water. The distinction is awarded after strict control of verification and monitoring of these efforts, highlighting the Westin and Marriott hotels’ commitment to making Puerto Vallarta a beacon of sustainability and environmental conservation.
