CANCÚN’S HOTEL ZONE UNVEILS MODERNIZED INFRASTRUCTURE AHEAD OF TOURIST SEASON
November 4, 2025

Cancún’s iconic Hotel Zone is getting a major upgrade as the city finalizes the renovation of 42 bus stops along Boulevard Kukulcán, with work now more than 90% complete, according to Ricardo Archundia, Coordinator of the Trust for the Strengthening of Tourism Activity of Quintana Roo.
The project aims to create safer, more comfortable, and sustainable spaces featuring solar panels, efficient lighting, mobile charging stations, and internet access. Each stop will also include security cameras connected to the C5 command center, improving both connectivity and safety for residents and visitors.
“These new modern stops strengthen Cancún’s image as a world-class destination while offering greater comfort to everyone moving through the city’s main tourist corridor,” said Archundia.
Part of a 30-month urban modernization plan, this initiative enhances not only the look of the Hotel Zone but also the overall mobility experience and sense of security in one of the Caribbean’s most visited destinations. The upgrades also align with growing passenger demand along the route connecting Cancún International Airport to the Hotel Zone, which has prompted an increase in transfer service frequency, as well as optimized boarding points.
